Getting your home ready to sell? Don’t neglect the kitchen, the kitchen is important – it can make or break a sale. The kitchen is the heart of the home and we spend a tremendous amount of time in our kitchens so we want them to be nice. There is no bigger turn off when showing a home than a dirty out of date kitchen!
Remodeling a kitchen can be expensive so you need to really figure out what needs to be done. You don’t want to spend a fortune on a high end kitchen in a home that is not a high end home, your kitchen should match your home. Sometimes all your kitchen needs are a few minor changes. You can change the paint color to a neutral shade, get rid of clutter especially on the counters, get new appliances, switch out cabinet knobs, paint or re stain your cabinets and look into whether or not you need new/updated counter tops. Much of this work you can even do yourself if you are slightly handy.
Do a little research in your neighborhood to see what other people are doing with their kitchens so you know how much you really need to do, stay in line with your competition. Take your emotions out of your thinking and look at your kitchen objectively – and remember the kitchen can make or break a sale!
