Important Minor Repairs

May 9, 2012 |  Article By :   |

According to Remodeling Magazine, major home improvements recoup just 58 cents on the dollar so what can you do to help sell your home and not lose money?  There are a few important minor repairs that are easy and inexpensive.

Most buyers aren’t going to really take note of the items that are in good working order in your home, but you can bet they will remember every little thing that was not working right!  Why not spend a few days and fix up the small things that are in need of repair?  These items will not cost you an arm and a leg and will keep potential buyers from adding silly little things to their problem list.

  1. Repair or remove torn screens and screen doors
  2. Fix all leaky faucets and toilets
  3. Touch up holes and cracks in paint both inside and outside
  4. Oil those squeaky doors and cabinets
  5. De-clutter by putting unnecessary items into storage

These items may seem trivial but they will stick in a buyer’s mind if they are a problem and could keep them from selecting your home!
